Media I Love to Consume

So, as I established in my last page, I love a lot of things, and media is among those lots of things. And it works out because media can mean movies, tv shows, video games, music, books, and more. Which is lovely for me, because I get to have lots of options to fixate on something and move on to the next! For me, I really like to find something to really get into. Like, beyond just watching or listening to whatever I'm interested in at the moment. I really like things like being able to see fan art or read other people's thoughts on it. Or, even, convincing one of my friends to check out something I'm into so I can talk about with them! I don't do this for every media I consume and I've definitely encountered ones where I was fine just to check it out and be done with it. But when I find something that tickles the brain the right way, I adore being "Not Normal" about it!

Another way I really enjoy my media, is being able to collect the physical versions of them! There's something really fun about having something physical versus a digital copy. I love the designs on the covers, cases, or CDs and just being able to hold it in my hand. Plus, I then get to decorate them around my room and actually be able to pick them up when I wanted to use one! Man, I remember being young enough to see a bit of the world before it became so digital and I think I miss a lot of it. I remember having this tiny DVD player that we would bring around while traveling to my uncle's house in San Jose, California. I have memories of watching Aaja Nachle, Over the Hedge, and Corpse Bride on that tiny DVD player. And, with how companies are trying to make sure we don't own the things we buy, it feels like a really good time to collect my favorite pieces of media. And as of now, I have had some great luck finding a ton of CD's, and mostly second hand!

Now I feel like video games deserves it's own paragraph. Video games have felt like such a big part of my life. It's a huge hobby of mine and its also an art form I really enjoy! My first video game that I can coherently remember playing, was Shrek 2 on the PS2. I was player number 2 (as player number 1 went to my older sister) and I had one of those clear controllers where you could see the inner workings! We had so much fun and there is always going to be a soft spot in my heart for co-op games. As I've gotten older, I've gotten the privilege to play a lot more games. And it is so nice having different options for different moods I'm in. There is also a ton of games that I am objectively awful at, but I still enjoy playing them for one reason or the other. Another one of my favorite things to do is watching people play a game! It all started when me and my younger sister would watch our older sister play Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. And to this day I'll still watch other people play their games. Sometimes it'll inspire me to try out that game and other times it reminds me why I like watching that game instead of playing it.
